A Provo man was in custody Monday night after opening fire on police when they tried to serve a search warrant at his home.

The man shot at a team of officers from the Utah County Sheriff's Office and the Provo police department through his front door, police Lt. Matt Siufanua said.

Multiple officers returned fire, but no one was seriously injured, Siufanua.

Police have not yet identified the man, nor said how many officers discharged their weapons.

An investigation is ongoing, Siufanua said.

Officers went to the residence in the 400 South block of 900 West about 6:30 p.m. to serve a search warrant for drugs, he said.
