Unified police Tuesday afternoon said a man who allegedly broke into his ex-wife's Midvale apartment and stabbed her and her boyfriend has turned himself in.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the incident occurred just before 5 a.m. inside a unit of the Park Station Apartments complex at 150 West and 7200 South.

Hoyal said the 28-year-old suspect pounded on the apartment's door and demanded his ex-wife allow him inside. She opened the door but refused to let him in, and when the woman's boyfriend came into the living room to investigate the suspect became enraged and forced his way inside.

A struggle ensued, during which the woman was stabbed in the arm and the boyfriend suffered a knife wound to his side. The suspect then fled in a gray 2008 Ford F-250 pickup truck, license plate C461ND, Hoyal said.

The woman and her boyfriend were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Hoyal said.
