McEntee on redistricting

I read columnist Peg McEntee's "Utah redistricting bad for Dems and democracy" (Tribune, Nov. 20), and she is certainly correct about Utah Republican Party legislators redrawing political districts for their benefit. Of course, Democrats would do the same were they in power.

I note that McEntee's cited only emails from Utahns who agree with her opinion that partisan redistricting is bad. Certainly, she has that prerogative, but wouldn't it be better to also show letters that support the opposing view? But maybe that's just me.

Incidentally, we do not live in a democracy. We live in representative republic. At least, that is what I was taught in school many, many years ago.
