GOP hypocrisy

It is interesting that Utah's Republican legislative leaders rejected the opportunity for Utah to design and operate its own health insurance exchange ("Republican lawmakers give thumbs down on health exchanges," Tribune, Nov. 15).

Most times, these GOP lawmakers bemoan federal intrusion; but on this issue, they're ceding control and leaving it to Washington bureaucrats to regulate Utah's insurance markets.

This hypocrisy would be amusing, except that it leaves Utahns powerless in the application of an important provision of the Affordable Care Act.
