Walter Jones, a librarian and collector of Vietnam War literature, will be the guest speaker at the J. Willard Marriott Library's Books and Authors Series on Dec. 9.

Jones, the assistant director of the University of Utah library's Special Collections, last year donated 94 boxes of books, magazines and other articles about the Indo-China wars, which he collected over several decades.

A veteran of the Army and Army National Guard, Jones plans to discuss literature that sheds light on U.S. involvement in Vietnam, including some through the 1920s and 1930s and during the French wars in Indo-China.

The event, sponsored by The Friends of the Marriott Library, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the library's Gould Auditorium.
