Workshop on hymns of the season

Church musician Rick McClure explores the stories behind some of the best-loved hymns of Advent and Christmas. The audience-participation program will include carol singing and a discussion of the history, legends and scriptures that accompany the various songs. Singers and nonsingers alike are welcome.

Children's Choir

The Salt Lake Children's Choir will present its traditional Christmas concert. Featured will be music of Bach, Vivaldi and other early masters. Also heard will be music of film composer Miklos Rozsa and prominent Utah composer Vanja Watkins. The audience and combined choirs will join in carol favorites to conclude the evening.

WSU musical groups to celebrate season

The Weber State University Choirs and Symphony Orchestra will perform Schubert's Mass in G, the original version of "Silent Night," excerpts from Britten's "Ceremony of Carols" and Rachmaninoff's "Bogoroditye Devo (Hymn to the Virgin)."
