Steven Spielberg's private White House screening of his newly released movie, "Lincoln," tipped me off that this film was probably a propaganda piece for the left. Spielberg is a big Hollywood supporter of President Barack Obama. Daniel Day-Lewis, who plays Abraham Lincoln, is also a self-proclaimed leftist.

The central theme of the movie is President Lincoln's forceful orchestration of House of Representatives approval of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery throughout the nation. Lincoln realized this legislation had to be passed before the Civil War ended and the reconciliation process to bring the Southern states back into the Union began.

On the surface, this looks like an essential step that would lead to freedom and equality for blacks. However, I believe the film is intended to be a metaphor for Obama's presidency so far, and his use of political force to bring about the passage of Obamacare.

However, Obamacare and all of Obama's uses of force and authoritarianism to bring about his socialist dreams for America are not leading to freedom for Americans; they are leading to the opposite — the enslavement of Americans to a bloated, oppressive federal government.
