A domestic dispute call took a potentially dangerous turn for police responding to a west Salt Lake City home.

Officers answering a 911 call at 6:46 a.m. were interviewing occupants at a home near 500 West and 200 South when an intoxicated male allegedly approached and attempted to interfere. The man, police said, refused their repeated commands to back off. When officers tried to take him into custody he fought before being shocked into submission with a Taser.

While searching him, officers found he was carrying a concealed and loaded handgun. Officers also learned the 25-year-old man had several active arrest warrants.

He was booked into Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of several misdemeanors, ranging from public intoxication, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with a police officer's orders.
