Re "Utah leaders back quest for another Olympics" (Tribune, Dec. 4):
Is it wise to spend millions of public money on a future event that depends on Utah winter weather being in 13 years similar to what it is today?
The measured acceleration of the rise in northern temperatures, which are melting hitherto "permanent" Arctic sea ice and Greenland's glaciers, makes reliance on Utah winter temperatures staying as they are for 13 more years a dubious gamble.
