Sandy man's condition improved days after I-215 crash

A 41-year-old Sandy man was upgraded to serious condition on Thursday, three days after he lost control of his speeding car and crashed on an Interstate 215 curve near 6200 South.
"They're expecting him to make it," said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson.
Witnesses told troopers that the man was driving between 100 and 140 mph when his southbound Audi A4-2 entered the median and struck a barrier wall about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected into the northbound lanes; his car came to a rest on the southbound side of the wall.
UHP continued to investigate the crash, but confirmed that it appeared alcohol was involved.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
