John Wightman has great cause to be concerned. In "Merely gay marriage?" (Forum, Nov. 30), he argued that if the U.S. Supreme Court eventually rules in favor of gay and lesbian marriages, the "slippery slope" of lunatic unions will cascade down with unprecedented acceleration beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

Not only will brothers and sisters be demanding the right to marry each other or their parents or grandparents, this will surely lead to people demanding their "unrestricted constitutional right" to marry pets, cars, favorite potted plants, etc.

Thanks for sharing a poignant and obviously rhetorical conclusion to such a misguided and demonic potential Supreme Court ruling. God save us all if same-sex marriage should become the law of the land.
