Deer Valley Resort is opening for skiing Saturday, the 11th of Utah's 14 resorts to start the 2012-13 season.

The Park City-area resort will open nine lifts and 18 runs on three of its mountains. Early season lift ticket prices are $80 for an adult all-day pass, $57 for seniors and $50 for children, said Deer Valley spokeswoman Emily Summers.

Sundance has the next scheduled opener, on Friday, while Eagle Point resort outside of Beaver is set to open Dec. 21. The opening of Beaver Mountain ski area above Logan has not been determined.

Deer Valley will be opening with about a 2-foot base.
