Re "Salt Lake City's Public Safety Building a blast-resistant fortress with flair" (Tribune, Dec. 7):
I'm sure the two new glass cathedrals in downtown Salt Lake City the library and the new public safety building are feathers in their designers' caps. They blend into this historical Western outpost like Annie Oakley with a diamond tiara.
The buildings are purported to be earthquake-proof. Time will tell. To the untrained eye, the external "curving glass" design lines look like an earthquake has already hit.
