After reading "Utah Gov: We prefer our health exchange" (Tribune, Dec 12), it's clear that Gov. Gary Herbert's plan doesn't include the minimum "essential" benefits nor does it really help those without insurance, which means it's really no plan at all.
As an individual who is anticipating being able to get affordable health insurance when Obamacare kicks in, I sure hope the governor's request for an exception is not approved.
I am truly stunned by the lack of compassion of our state leaders, especially since complying with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act will not cost the state that much, but it will help many Utahns who need insurance.
That's a no-brainer, yet Herbert says no. At long last, has he no decency?!
