Phoenix • A four-game winning streak. A fully healthy lineup. Victories over the dominant teams in the Western Conference.
You could forgive the Utah Jazz for walking around US Airways Center with a bit more swagger Friday.
But the Jazz weren't about to say anything along those lines following their morning shootaround in advance of Friday's game against the Suns.
"We've won a couple it a row," center Al Jefferson said. "But we've just got to keep going."
The Jazz (13-10) beat the rebuilding Suns 94-81 on Nov. 10. Since then, Phoenix (8-15) has been in a tailspin, losing seven straight before beating Memphis on Wednesday.
"They played against some tough opponents on the road," coach Tyrone Corbin said. "So I think their record is a little bit deceiving as far as how good a ball club this is. We can't afford to take them for granted."
That Corbin has a full lineup at his disposal is an added boost. The Jazz have seen injuries cut down several starters, as well as reserves Derrick Favors and Earl Watson. Favors played 12 minutes Wednesday after missing the previous five games with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
The Jazz are currently enjoying a run in which they are playing their best basketball of the season. They battled back from a multiple deficits to beat San Antonio on a last-second 3-pointer by Mo Williams.
The Jazz spoke in the aftermath of that game about how quickly they have built chemistry, and Corbin said a dramatic victory like Wednesday's could speed up the process.
"I think it helps," he said. "Instead of one step you might take a step and a half. But it's temporary. It's a good feeling and it's all great, but now you have to back it up. In this league you don't get a chance to hold on to those things very long."
