The conference re-alingment uncertainty facing the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is no more.

On Friday afternoon, the bowl announced a partnership with the Mountain West Conference, a bowl tie-in which will begin in 2013.

As a part of the deal, the sixth place team from the MWC will qualify for the Potato Bowl next season. That team will still face a team from the MAC Conference.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to add the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl to our lineup," Mountain West Conference Commissioner Craig Thompson said. "The geographical fit and the fact that our fans can drive or have a short flight to the bowl is a huge plus for us."

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is the longest running cold weather bowl in the country.
