The Los Angeles Angels are throwing a party Saturday, but the guest of honor's name wasn't on the invitation.
Josh Hamilton will be introduced at a 9:30 a.m. MST news conference, although an Angels news release vaguely indicated only a "major announcement," because Hamilton's deal wasn't official until after he passed his physical Friday. The club was obviously confident enough that Hamilton would pass that it released details of the news conference.
Hamilton and the Angels agreed to a five-year, $125 million deal Thursday, shocking the baseball world because the team had been presumed to be out of the market for position players.
