Precious NRA agenda

I am a gun owner and sometime hunter, but after Friday, I will never support the National Rifle Association, whose pusillanimous response to the shooting in Newtown, Conn., was a firm "No comment." Not even a "Our hearts go out to the victims of this tragedy," because to acknowledge the use of a sacred firearm in the deaths of innocent children and adults might damage the NRA's precious political agenda.

The inability of the NRA to recognize the role of guns in slaughters like this puts it in the same camp as those who deny the Holocaust ever occurred: voices unworthy to be listened to or considered in civilized debate.
