Utah lodging sites bump up rates in November

Salt Lake City hotel and motel occupancy rates in November were little changed from last year, but nightly rates were higher, resulting in more revenue per room, according to the monthly Rocky Mountain Lodging Report.
Occupancies averaged 59.3 percent last month, up from 58.9 percent in November 2011. Room rates jumped to $99.71 from $93.17 a year ago.
That produced revenue per available room of $59.11 in November, up 7.7 percent from $54.90 in November 2011.
Statewide, November occupancies averaged 52.6 percent, compared with 52.5 percent last year.
Room rates averaged $93.41, up from $88.21 in November 2011. Revenue per available room was $49.14 compared to $46.28.
