Cedar City • Brian Head Resort in southern Utah is under new ownership.

The Spectrum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/V3w9T3) that the sale to Brian Head Acquisition Partner LLC was finalized last week for an undisclosed price.

The resort near Cedar City was put up for sale in 2008 after the death of the previous primary owner, Jim Trees, who had owned it since 1992.

After his death, the resort was placed into a family trust and partnership with the intent to sell. In April 2010, the resort was marketed for $34.7 million. The price was reduced to $29 million two months later.

This past March, it was put into receivership with Wells Fargo Bank.

The resort property includes two mountains, nine lifts, 640 skiable acres, 53 runs and a snow tubing park.
