The National Rifle Association says that the answer to the problem of violence in our schools is more guns ("NRA calls for armed police officer in every school," Tribune, Dec. 22). How silly, stupid and ridiculous.

Are we and our children expected to live in a war-zone atmosphere? Have we become Tombstone and the gunfight at the OK Corral?

Are we not a civilized society? We are overloaded with guns. The answer to problems of violence is fewer guns.
