Police release photos of West Valley credit union robbers

Police in West Valley City are looking for two men who robbed the Central Credit Union at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

The masked men entered the credit union at 4090 S. 4800 West about 12:30 p.m., brandishing firearms and demanding money. They made a quick getaway with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee that was found to have been reported stolen, according to Deputy Chief Mike Powell.

No shots were fired or injuries reported.

The getaway vehicle was later found abandoned in a nearby neighborhood, where footprints in the snow indicated that the suspects fled in a second vehicle. Police have no information about the second vehicle.

The first suspect is described as a black man, about 6 feet and 2 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing black pants, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with gloves and a mask.

The second suspect is described as a white man, about 5 feet and 10 inches tall, with a small build. He was possibly wearing blue jeans with a gray sweatshirt, gloves and a mask.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information related to the robbery is asked to contact the West Valley City Police Department at 801-840-4000. Police consider the suspects to be armed and dangerous and urge anyone who sees them to not attempt to approach or confront them.
