Having won six straight games at their home away from home — EnergySolutions Arena — the BYU Cougars hope to continue their success in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The 9-4 Cougars tangle with 9-3 Virginia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference at noon in their last nonconference basketball game before West Coast Conference play begins next week. The game will be televised by ESPNU.

The Cougars knocked off the Hokies 70-68 last January in Blacksburg, Va.

BYU is coming off an easy 84-54 win over Northern Arizona on Thursday, but Saturday's game figures to be much more competitive. The Hokies, with first-year coach James Johnson at the helm, feature the leading scorer in college basketball, point guard Erick Green.

The 6-foot-3 Green is averaging 25.4 points per game.

The Cougars are more of an inside-oriented team, with senior forward Brandon Davies averaging 20.3 ppg. Wing Tyler Haws is averaging 19.3 ppg.

This is the second game at ESA this season for the Cougars, who downed Montana 85-60 here on Nov. 28. BYU has not lost at ESA since Dec. 8, 2007, when Michigan State took a 68-61 win over the Cougars.

Since then, BYU has defeated Utah State, San Francisco, Hawaii, Arizona, Oregon and Montana at the home of the NBA's Utah Jazz.
