Man dead in Wyoming reportedly potential copper heir

Evanston, Wyo. • A man who reportedly had a chance of inheriting millions from a disputed copper fortune was found dead under a Wyoming railroad overpass.

Police in Evanston, near the Utah border, say two children sledding found the body of 60-year-old Timothy Henry Gray on Dec. 27. Lt. Bill Jeffers said Monday it appears Gray died of exposure.

NBC News reports Gray was a long-lost relative of the late copper heiress Huguette Clark and stood to inherit $19 million, depending on the fate of a challenge to her will.

The reclusive Clark was 104 when she died in 2011 in New York. She left no money to her family from the fortune amassed by her father, William A. Clark of Montana. About 20 great-nieces and great-nephews are challenging the last will that she apparently signed.

A lawyer for a court-appointed official overseeing the estate and one representing relatives didn't immediately return calls.
