Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Alpine School District Board of Education • Will choose the new name for the middle school in Eagle Mountain; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 6 p.m., 575 N. 100 East, American Fork. View the Alpine agenda.

Davis County Commission • Will hear a request to adopt the Davis County Emergency Operations Plan & Major Incident Response Plan; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Main St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Draper City Council • will consider approving an agreement with the Utah Transit Authority for Bunny Bradley Trail general license. It will also take action on a request from the Utah Transit Authority for three easements on city property. The meeting will take place Jan. 8 at 7 p.m., 1020 East Pioneer Road. Highland City Council • Will consider appointing Mayor Ritchie to the Utah Valley Dispatch Special Service District that was created in 2008; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 7 p.m., 5400 W. Civic Center Drive. View the Highland agenda.

Holladay Planning Commission • Will hold training at 5:30 p.m. followed by updates on items currently in the development review process; Tuesday, Jan. 8, Municipal Center, 4580 S. 2300 East, Holladay. View the Holladay agenda.

Holladay City Council • Will hold work session to discuss business license fee study, council boundaries, residential uses of recreational vehicles, a municipal ethics committee, and an anti-idling ordinance; Thursday, Jan. 10, 5:30 p.m., Municipal Center, 4580 S. 2300 East., Holladay. Kearns Improvement District • Will present a State of the District message for 2012-13; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 5:30 p.m., 5350 W. 5400 South, Kearns.

Midvale City Council • Setting public hearings on the fiscal 2013 budget and also on lot 4A of the Riverwalk at Bingham Junction for Jan. 22; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 7 p.m. City Hall, 655 W. Center St., Midvale. View the Midvale agenda.

Murray City Council • At 5:30, the council meets with the Murray City Library Board to discuss property agreement between the Library and School District. At 6:30, the regular council session begins and members will consider joint resolution commemorating Murray City Power's 100th year anniversary, also will hold a public hearing to discuss additional height and size for signs near I-15 and I-215; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 6:30 p.m., City Center at 5025 S. Ogden City Council • Will consider resolution for issuance and sale of $6 million in sewer and water revenue bonds, also during a work session will discuss ordinance to regulate and add disclosure requirements for payday lenders; Tuesday, Jan. 8, 6 p.m., 3rd floor chambers, Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Salt Lake County Council • Will select a chairman for 2013 at its 2 p.m. workshop, then hold a public hearing on changing Salt Lake Sanitation District No. 1 to Wasatch Front Waste and Recycle District at its 4 p.m. council meeting; Tuesday, North Building, County Government Center, 2001 S.
