Seattle • Utah State's women's basketball team trailed for most of Thursday's WAC battle against host Seattle University, then rallied to force overtime, but ultimately lost 71-68.
The Aggies trailed by as much as 31-19 in the first half, but closed to within four points by halftime.
The loss wasted a monster effort by USU's Jennifer Schlott, who totaled 32 points, seven rebounds, six steals and three assists.
Women's basketball
Northern Colorado 69, Weber State 48 • At Greeley, Colo., the Wildcats were beset by poor shooting (35.2 percent overall) and too many turnovers (23 total), as they remained winless on the season, dropping to 0-12 overall and 0-3 in Big Sky games.
Northern Arizona 71, SUU 61 • At Cedar City, the T-birds started fast, building an early 10-2 lead, but could not maintain it, as NAU picked up its second victory of the season. SUU's final lead of the game was 12-10.
Westminster 64, Lewis-Clark State 43 • At Lewiston, Idaho, the Griffins raced out to a 22-0 lead and never looked back. Nicole Yazzie shot 7 for 11 from the field to score a game-high 19 points for Westminster (13-2, 2-0 Frontier Conference). Lewis-Clark State shot just 28.6 percent overall .
SLCC 55, North Idaho College 49 • At Taylorsville, the 20th-ranked Bruins used a strong second half to knock off No. 1-ranked NIC. Katie Richens had 20 points and 10 rebounds for SLCC, which improved to 10-5, 1-1 SWAC, and ended the Cardinals' 17-game win streak to start the season.
Men's basketball
SLCC 75, North Idaho College 74 • At Taylorsville, Skyler Halford capped a 25-point effort by hitting the tying and go-ahead free throws with 1.1 seconds left, as the Bruins rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit to upset the 13th-ranked Cardinals.
Lewis-Clark State 80, Westminster 75 • At Lewiston, Idaho, the seventh-ranked Griffins' nine-game winning streak came to an end against No. 11-ranked and undefeated LCSC. Westminster is 13-2, 1-1 Frontier.
