Today's trailer, for the Mexican film "Halley," is a headscratcher.
The movie playing at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival is described in the festival's film guide thusly: "Alberto is dead and can no longer hide it. Before surrendering to his living death, he forms an unusual relationship with Luly, the manager of the 24-hour gym where he works as a night guard."
What that has to do with the trailer's static images, of the furniture in a sunlit apartment and of two flies in a jar, and David Lynch-ready musical score is anybody's guess.
"Halley" plays, naturally, in the New Frontier section of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
