Re "Flu surging early in Utah" (Tribune, Jan. 10):

I was in a crowded TRAX car yesterday and a lot of people were coughing and sneezing into the air and their hands.

I could sense the germs and viruses going from their snotty hands to the handrails to my hands, which I try not to touch to my face.

People, if you are germ-spreading ill, stay home! If you absolutely can't, please, cough and sneeze into your sleeve, not into the air. And wash your hands often. Two words: hand sanitizer.

I love public transportation, but for the next month or two, I'm walking for short distances. The downtown free-fare zone is definitely not a germ-free zone.
