State colleges: BYU women earn OT win against San Diego

San Diego • Stephanie Seaborn scored 16 points off the bench as the BYU women's basketball team beat West Coast Conference foe San Diego 57-54 in overtime Thursday night.

The Cougars improve to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in WCC play.

Women's basketball

Idaho State 80, Southern Utah 71 • After trailing 41-18 at halftime, the T-birds attempted a second-half comeback, scoring 53 points after the break, only to come up short. Carli Moreland led SUU with 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting.

Grand Canyon 73, Dixie 71 (2OT) • At St. George, GCU's Maylinn Smith hit the go-ahead jumper with five seconds left, handing the Red Storm their first Pac West loss in six conference games this season.

Westminster 81, Great Falls 39 • The fourth-ranked Griffins put up their season-best point total in winning their seventh straight game. Cydney Tibbets had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Men's basketball

SLCC 75, USU-Eastern 57 • At Price, the 24th-ranked Bruins led by only two at halftime, but outscored their foe 42-26 after the break to pull away. Sophomore Tyrell Corbin had a team-high 18 points.

Dixie 71, Grand Canyon 66 • At St. George, Derek Owen scored 15 points off the bench as Dixie State snapped Grand Canyon's 13-game winning streak.

Great Falls 73, Westminster 71 • The 18th-ranked Griffins were dealt their first defeat at Behnken Field House this season, as Great Falls rallied to win in Salt Lake City for the first time ever. Blake Skidmore had 18 points for Westminster, which was outscored 17-6 down the stretch.
