The documentary "The Summit," playing at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, takes viewers to a place with even more than Park City: The Himalayan mountain K2, one of the world's most treacherous peaks to climb.
The film recounts a deadly season on K2, when 11 climbers were killed or went missing in a 48-hour period – and how one of them, Ger McDonald, might have survived if (as the festival guide says) "had stuck to the climber's code."
"The Summit" debuts in the World Cinema Documentary competition of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
