Woods Cross police are looking for whoever shot a 25-year-old man in the arm Friday night.

About 10:40 p.m., two to three males came to the man's door near 500 W. 1000 South asking for someone, said Woods Cross police Officer Chris Hoffman. The homeowner told them the person wasn't there. A fight broke out between him and the males, and one of them shot him in the arm with a handgun, Hoffman said.

Hoffman could not immediately provide a condition for the man but said he was conscious and alert when he was taken to a hospital Friday night.

Two other people were at the man's home at the time, but they told police they did not see what happened.

The shooting did not appear to be random, Hoffman said, but he declined to provide details or a description of the suspects because the investigation is ongoing.
