University of Utah skier Miles Havlick raced to victory in the 10-kilometer classical cross-country race at the University of Colorado Invitational on Sunday in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and teammate Einar Ulsund finished third.
Havlick won in 27 minutes, 3.8 seconds, while Rune Oedegaard (27:14.7) was second, followed by Ulsund (27:25.2)
Colorado won the team title with 878 points, followed by Denver (8081/2), New Mexico (7411/2 and Utah (723).
Utah's Rose Kemp placed third in the women's 5K race in 18:41.0. Colorado's Maria Nordstroem (16:23.6) and Joanne Reid (16:37.1) earned the top two spots.
Havlick, a native of Boulder, Colo., turned in his second straight podium finish to start this season; he has finished third or better 21 times during his career as a Ute.
