Salt Lake City Corp. is recruiting board members for appointment to its Business Advisory Board.

Currently, there are unfilled seats in Council Districts 1, 5, 6 and 7, according to the city. However, interested and qualified candidates within all districts will be considered for appointment to the board.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Salt Lake City and County Building, 451 S. State St., Room 326.

The board advises the mayor and city council on issues that affect Salt Lake City's business community. Staffed by the Department of Community and Economic Development, the board helps direct city economic policy, promote small business growth, support local entrepreneurs and assist the city in encouraging local business development.

Each board member must be at least 21 years old and either be a resident or have an ownership interest in a business within the city boundaries.
