Layton police arrested two men after finding them laden with loot allegedly stolen during several burglaries.

Lt. Shawn Horton said the suspects, ages 29 and 27, were spotted walking about 4 a.m. Sunday in the area of Main Street and Hillfield Road. Both men consented to a search of their backpacks, and electronic devices, financial documents and other items reported stolen from residential, automobile and business break-ins were recovered.

Police subsequently searched two Layton homes and seized other unspecified stolen property, Horton said.

The men were booked into Davis County jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary, theft, possession of stolen property and criminal trespassing. One of the men also was booked on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender.
