I was already reeling over the report, "Governor's energy summit highlights stark divide" (Tribune, Jan. 11), wherein I fully expected you to report that Gov. Gary Herbert and Sen. Mike Lee dropped their pants during their shuck-and-jive to the gas and oil industry folks.

Their comments were filled with pandering, green-washing and oxymorons. Why not just say, "We will sell Utah to the highest bidders — those citizens who want clean air and water be damned!"

Now, this bribery exposé involving our new Attorney General John Swallow ("Indicted businessman: Utah A.G. tied to alleged scheme," Tribune, Jan. 12).

Can being disgusted with Utah politicians get any more disgusting? This plays like an HBO episode titled "Real Time with Utah's Mormon Mafia. It's a whole new level of the good ol' boys at work!"
