Despite dominating in their last two games, the Griffins slipped.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Westminster College women's basketball team fell one position to No. 5 in the NAIA Division I women's basketball coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Griffins received 249 points in the poll to fall to fifth after being ranked as highly as No. 4 last week. The Griffins are 5-0 in Frontier Conference play after running away with wins over Great Falls (Mont.), 81-39, and Montana State-Northern, 72-43 last week.

Westminster is 16-2 overall so far this season and has won eight straight games for the second time this season.

At 11-0, Vanguard (Calif.) claimed the top spot in the poll this week. The Lions were this week's unanimous No. 1 with 281 points and 11 first-place votes. Vanguard's No. 1 ranking is the 28th for the program since 1999-2000 and first since Feb. 28, 2007. It is the first time this season a team other than Lubbock Christian (Texas) topped the coaches' poll.
