The Utah Highway Patrol is looking for a person who shot a handgun from a car toward another driver while both were traveling on Interstate 215 on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said that at about 2:30 p.m., two men in a white Chevy pickup were on an off ramp from State Road 201 Eastbound to I-215. While the pickup was merging into traffic, there was some minor difficulty between the pickup and a blue Toyota Camry. A few minutes later, as the pickup began to take the off ramp onto 3500 South, the driver of the Camry, apparently angered by the Chevy's actions, fired a gun at the pickup. UHP said the pickup was hit by several rounds but that there were no injuries to anyone inside.

The Camry driver who fired the gun was reportedly the only one inside the car. He is described as a Hispanic man about 30 years old between 5-foot-6- and 5-foot-8-inches tall with light build and short, dark hair. He was driving a 2006 or later Camry model with unknown Texas plates.

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting and can provide more information is encouraged to contact UHP.
