"American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks is kicking off the New Year by moving his popular Las Vegas show to Napoleon's at Paris Las Vegas beginning Monday, Jan. 21. Hicks, who previously performed in The Indigo at Bally's Las Vegas, recently signed a year-long extension with Caesars Entertainment through 2013, making him the first "American Idol" winner to secure a long-term residency on the Las Vegas Strip.

"Taylor has been playing to sold-out crowds at Bally's Las Vegas since he opened in The Indigo last year, so it only made sense for him to move his show to a larger venue at Napoleon's at Paris Las Vegas," said David Hoenemeyer, regional president of Bally's Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, in a press release. "With its large windows overlooking the 'streets' of Paris, Napoleon's is the perfect location for fans to enjoy Taylor's signature roadhouse style." His residency serves as a homecoming of sorts, as Las Vegas is where Hicks' journey to fame began. He was in New Orleans the night before Hurricane Katrina. With his flight cancelled, he was given a free airplane voucher. Hicks used the ticket to travel to Las Vegas, where coincidentally "American Idol" auditions were being held.
