Wahl named an All-Star by the ECHL

West Vally City — Mitch Wahl, who spent most of the season with the Utah Grizzlies, was named to the ECHL All-Star team on Thursday. Wahl is currently playing for Abbotsford of the American Hockey League. In 30 games with the Grizzlies, Wahl had 11 goals and 28 assists. At the time of his call-up, he had scored in 18 of the last 21 games. Wahl, 22, was selected by the Calgary Flames in the second round of the 2008 NHL entry draft. He had 20 goals and 20 assists in 38 games for the Grizzlies last season. The ECHL All-Star game will be played Jan. 23 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo. It will be televised on the Altitude Sports and Entertainment network at 7 p.m.
