It's off the beaten path amid all the theaters and parties at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, but the exhibit at the Julie Nester Gallery in Park City is worth the detour.

On display until Jan. 30 are photographs by war correspondent Tim Hetherington, who was killed in April 2011 in a mortar attack while covering the uprising in Libya. The photos chronicle Hetherington's coverage of war zones around the world.

Hetherington and journalist Sebastian Junger debuted their Afghan war documentary "Restrepo" at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize before going on to get an Oscar nomination. Junger is back at Sundance with a tribute to his friend, "Which Way Is the Front Line From Here? The Life and Time of Tim Hetherington."

The exhibit at the Julie Nester Gallery also has a fund-raising element. Junger is soliciting donations for a project that he developed after Hetherington's death: RISC (Reporters Instructed in Saving Colleagues), which offers an intensive (and free) three-day training in combat-zone first aid, along with a comprehensive medical pack.
