Pinback

Spotlight Show • The San Diego-based indie-rock band brings its tour to Salt Lake City — which singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist Rob Crow claims is "one of my favorite places to play." The hirsute musician has also worked in projects such as Heavy Vegetable, Physics, Optiganally Yours and Thingy. But he returns to work with Pinback every few years. "There's no excuse for boredom," Crow said during a recent telephone interview. "I'll be playing until my arms fall off. I want to do this as much as possible." There's a reason Crow dabbles in so many projects. "I like to work with varied groups of people," he said, "people who challenge me with things I've never thought of. … [There is] no typical way to write a song." The Pinback performance will include songs from its fifth full-length album, "Information Retrieved." Judgement Day is the special guest.
