State colleges: Texas beats Utah in women's tennis

The University of Texas women's tennis team defeated Utah 4-1 Sunday in Austin, Texas, as part of the ITA Kick-off Weekend.

No. 34-ranked Utah netted the doubles point with a 2-1 edge in matches but was unable to post a singles victory against 11th-ranked Texas.

In the No. 1 doubles match, Utah's Paige Miles and Tereza Bekerova defeated Breaunna Addison and Noel Scott, 8-2. Utah's Callie Craig and Sarah Pham beat Lina Padegimaite and Annat Rabinovich 8-6 in the No. 3 match.

Men's tennis • In Las Vegas, Northern Arizona beat Utah State 4-0. Utah State's Fredrick Peterson lost to Patrick Schimmelbauer 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles pairing.
