The Utah Utes historically have made a late push in the recruiting process for some of their better talent and this year seems to be no exception. A day after Gaius Vaenuku, a defensive end from Euless, Texas picked the Utes, Sese Ianu, a defensive lineman from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, committed to the Utes on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound tackle was also considering Arizona State, Oregon State, Boise State and Washington State. In addition, Clarence Smith, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound running back/linebacker from Youngker H.S. in Buckeye, Ariz., also committed to the Utes. The Utes are planning to host two players this weekend in Pita Taumoepenu, a defensive end from Timpview H.S., and Kylie Fitts, a 6-4, 260-pound highly sought after defensive end who has visited Notre Dame, UCLA and USC. Adding a guy like Fitts could be the capper on a class that needed some more heft and depth on the line. - Lya Wodraska
