Where do the Jazz go from here?

>Well, that game is history - in every way imaginable. Thanks to a Kevin Murphy 3-pointer the Jazz avoided their worst loss since moving from New Orleans, which doesn't do much for the ol' ego considering the Jazz still lost by 45 in what was the worst home loss ever.

So, what should the Jazz do? Blow it up? Fire Tyrone Corbin? Put a wanted ad in The Salt Lake Tribune for someone — anyone? — who can play some defense? Come down off the ledge, please, and keep reading.

Yes, it was ugly. And indefensible, and exposed a lot of the issues we already knew the Jazz had.

"It's one loss," Tyrone Corbin said. "You've got to understand why you lost the game, how do we play. Sure, we didn't have a lot of energy, we didn't execute, we didn't get stops we didn't get back, pick your poison. We didn't do anything on the defensive end, we didn't do much on the offensive end."

Corbin played his end-of-bench players for the entirety of the fourth quarter (although the Jazz already trailed by 34 at that point) and the Rockets continued to jack up 3s.

Houston shot 14 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. This is the kind of loss, if you believe the Jazz, that is easier to put out of mind than a close one, such as in Atlanta when they blew a double-digit fourth quarter lead.

"This is embarrassing," Al Jefferson said. "These are one of the games you just want tot get our of your head, out of your mind."

The Jazz remain in an eighth place tie - with Houston, funny enough - and have a chance to earn some separationg this week with games on Friday and Saturday against and at Portland.

But the Jazz will need to figure some things out if that's to happen. DeMarre Carroll directed a challenge at his teammates. "Tomorrow I know I'm going to do my part and come in early and do what I got to do," he said, "and I hope guys take it upon themselves to do it to."
