Where are the plows?

What an interesting winter. We have had only four or five storms and, surprisingly, the weather folks have been spot-on in predicting their start and duration.

What is glaringly lacking is our local governments' response to these storms. Where are the plows? Why are the roads covered with snow and ice hours after a storm?

Are we not paying enough taxes for this very obvious public service, given our geographical conditions? On top of that, we have to deal with this toxic smog, while our "leaders" dance around the real issues.

With all this talk about less federal government, have we taken that too much to heart locally?
