Recalls for Rock 'n Play Sleeper, vehicles with bad park lock cable

The following products and vehicles were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unless otherwise indicated, discontinue use of the products immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. Product • Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper, sold at mass-merchandise stores nationwide and online since September 2009 for $50 to $85.

Problem • Mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet/moist or is infrequently cleaned, posing a risk of exposure to mold to infants sleeping in the product. Problem • The vehicles may have been built with a fractured park lock cable or a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly. As a result, they may shift from Park with the ignition key removed or with the ignition key in the OFF position, posing a hazard. General Motors' number for this recall is 12331.
