Salt Lake City police Friday were asking for the public's help in bringing a bank robber to justice.

The male adult suspect was rather unusual, seeking to disguise himself with possibly theatrical-grade makeup when he entered the Key Bank branch office at 290 E. 1300 East about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

He walked up to a teller and demanded and received cash — and a dye pack that went off outside the bank. Police found fragments of the pack, along with some of the cash, on the ground.

The suspect, described as a 5-foot-5 Latino with brown eyes, dark hair and wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt in addition to his face paint, fled the area westbound on foot.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to called police at 801-799-3000.
