Laughable endorsements

The Tribune makes me laugh.

It endorses Gary Herbert for governor, knowing his relationships with fossil-fuel interests and big business concerning health or public lands ("Herbert for guv: Incumbent has earned another term," Our View, Sept. 29). Then it published an editorial criticizing Herbert for doing exactly what you knew he would do when elected ("Utah's future: Herbert doesn't see big picture," Our View, Feb. 2).

These are the exact reasons I didn't listen to your endorsement and voted against Herbert. Another Senate term for Orrin Hatch — really?

When is The Trib going to get away from being impressed with incumbents and "experience" and "seniority" and think about how those elected officials will actually perform?

At least you got it right to not endorse John Swallow for Utah attorney general. But, of course, he was not an incumbent.
