Just like Rome

The argument over the best way to stop random shootings at schools and elsewhere rages between the left — let's ban guns — and the right — the problem is violent video games. Both left and right are so sure they are correct, they reject any attempt by the other side to enact meaningful legislation.

Both sides are right. Both sides should stop taking their partisan positions and realize that we are becoming a violent society and work to remove all things in our nation that contribute to the ever-increasing violence.

Otherwise, sadly, our nation will go the way of Rome, when internal stances let the barbarians attack. Rome fell, and, I'm afraid, so shall we.
