New pizzeria in Sugar House

Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria recently opened at 1044 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City. The Sugar House restaurant specializes in thin-crust wood-fired pizzas drawing upon pizza-making traditions from Naples, Italy. The restaurant uses top-quality flour for its dough and imports San Marzano tomatoes for its sauce. The menu also includes salads, sandwiches and pastas. Prices $8 to $16. Open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday noon to 9 p.m. Information at 801-467-2180.

Eva's Bakery opens on Main

Main Street in Salt Lake City gets a touch of Paris with the recent opening of Eva's Bakery and Cafe at 155 S. Main. Owner Charlie Perry — who also operates Eva, a small plates restaurant down the street — has remodeled the spot where Vasuvio's used to be into a "Parisian-style boulangerie," with a bright blue exterior and yellow canopy. Inside, there are artisan breads, cakes, cookies and other French-style pastries, and a breakfast and lunch menu with soups, salads and pizzas. All items priced at $10 or less. Eva's Bakery and Cafe is open Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Carnival of Venice at The New Yorker

Wil Pliler, the chef at The New Yorker, 36 W. Market St., (340 South), Salt Lake City, has launched a new Carnival of Venice menu that includes a variety of Italian seafood specialties. Lunch entrées range from $12-$22, dinner entrees range from $18-$48. The restaurant also has a new glass art installation by Glassfire Studios. Call 801-363-0166 for more information.

Guilt-free dessert at Squatters

For the month of February, Squatters and its partners are offering a $5 Guilt-Free Dessert, with proceeds benefitting Utahns Against Hunger. The dessert is available through Feb. 28 at Squatters Brewery, 147 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City; Squatter's Roadhouse Grill, 1900 Park Ave., Park City; Wasatch Brew Pub, 250 Main St., Park City and Squatters at the Salt Lake International Airport.

Winter Market: Part 4 Saturday at Caputo's

The monthly Winter Farmers Market, sponsored by the Downtown Alliance, continues Saturday, Feb. 9. Utah farmers and producers will be selling produce, meat, eggs, baked goods and more. Several food trucks also will be parked nearby.

Mardi Gras at PapaO's

Celebrate Fat Tuesday at PapaO's. The Draper restaurant, which specializes in Southern fare, will offer several Mardi Gras specials including jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish étouffée and bananas Foster. Live music in the evening.
